Operating Cisco MDS SAN switches—the storage fabric backbone in enterprise datacenters—requires real-time telemetry into hardware component health (fans, power supplies, thermal sensors), FC port link state, and fabric zoning events via an integrated Network Management System (NMS: Zabbix, PRTG, Nagios).
